Pet Policy

We only allow two pets in a site, provided they are in an air-conditioned RV/Trailer. However, pets are not permitted in tent sites or in sites where the vehicle will not have air-conditioning running throughout the day.

Cancellation Policy

The deposit is refundable IF cancellation is made online 4+ days before arrival. However, cancellation within 3 days retains 1st night charges. In case of a NO-SHOW (non-arrival by 7am next morning), the first night deposit is retained, and any remaining days are cancelled.

Refund Policy

Refunds given for early departures, providing shower tokens are returned for unused night(s) and checking out by noon. However, unreturned shower tokens for unused night(s) will incur a charge of $6.00 per token.

In 1974, David Ferber and his sons embarked on a journey that would eventually lead to the establishment of Zion Campground. Over the years, the small campground they initially encountered has evolved into a flourishing family business. Stewart Ferber, Dave Ferber’s son, took over in 1999 and continued to enhance the property. The expansion continued with the opening of the La Quinta Inn & Suites at Zion Park/Springdale in 2012, followed by The Fairfield by Marriott in Virgin, Utah. The Ferber family’s vision has transformed Zion Camp into what it is today, with ongoing plans for future developments.

Absolutely, Zion Canyon Campground is a family-friendly destination. The variety of lodging options and the range of outdoor activities available make it an ideal place for families to create lasting memories together.

We fill up 100% most every night. Campers have their space until 12:00 noon, and there’s always a few stragglers that we have to hunt down and say “Go on now, GIT!” We don’t have the real estate to handle those that want to stay past 12:00 noon, nor those that would like to park somewhere before check-in, to get right into Zion Park. We suggest you plan for your arrival after 12:00 noon. We like to check campsites for trash and ash or articles left behind, so after 1:00 PM is best. We don’t begin the process of checking sites for departures until 10:00am or so. You can turn UPHILL across from our entrance, up Lion Blvd., where you may find on-street parking and a large lot, for PAID public parking of over-sized vehicles.

NO. For the same reasons above. And for those that think it won’t matter if you’re late checking out, you’ll see a charge come through your credit card account, as stipulated in our rules & regulations, for another full night –and still expect you depart.

You CAN, but we don’t suggest it. It can be a RACE (and stressful) to get into the park in the morning and try to get back to the campground to check-out by 12:00 noon. Most 1-night visitors request a second-night as an after-thought, where we can’t accommodate them due to high demand.

Our mantra is “no tents on RV sites, and no RV’s on tent sites.” Tent sites have no utilities (water, power or sewer service). Tent sites are generally smaller than RV sites. Generators are NOT allowed to be operated at any time. RV sites have utility lines buried (sometime shallowly) below the surface. Tent stakes can penetrate utility lines and cause all kinds of trouble for everyone, especially downhill!

The ideal time to visit Zion Canyon Campground largely depends on your preferences. Spring and fall offer mild weather and fewer crowds, making it great for outdoor activities. Summer is popular for those looking to enjoy warmer temperatures and engage in water-related activities. While Zion Canyon Campground itself doesn’t offer guided activities, the nearby Zion National Park often has ranger-led programs and guided tours available. These programs can provide you with insights into the park’s natural and cultural history.

Modifications and cancellation policies may vary depending on the type of accommodation and the time of year. It’s recommended to review the specific terms and conditions associated with your booking or contact our reservations team for assistance.

We don’t keep ‘wait lists’, nor do we monitor all the cancellations and changes, to know in advance if we can keep you on the same site. Know that, if you make reservations on different sites, chances are we won’t be able to keep you on the same site, and waiting for the previous camper to leave the one you are scheduled to MOVE to can be 12:00 noon. Again, we don’t have the real estate to let you park elsewhere on our property so you can get into the park. There may be paid public parking for over-sized vehicles available within a short walking distance up Lion Blvd., so you can move off your FIRST site before noon, get into the park, and return later in the day to move your rig into the new site.

IF you are coming into Springdale from the Southwest, traveling on SR9, heading East from Las Vegas, St. George, Hurricane, or I-15…the tunnel does not affect you. The tunnel is on SR9 if you are heading further East to continue THROUGH Zion Park towards US89, past the East entrance of the Park, and heading to Bryce Canyon, Kanab, Page, North or South Rim Grand Canyon, Flagstaff. IF you are ARRIVING into Zion FROM the EAST on SR9, you must be able to get through the tunnel. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do your research about the tunnel, size and time restrictions, not only in advance as you plan, but also on the day you travel into the area. Occasionally there can be tunnel closures due to mud or rock slides when we’ve had much rain.

You can completely avoid the tunnel by traveling AROUND Zion Park, which can increase your travel time to Springdale by an hour or more. The travel-around with the least impact is SR59/SR389 from Hurricane to Fredonia, then either North or South ON US89. At least one party, often more, call us from the East Entrance of Zion, discovering they can’t pass through the tunnel for one reason or another (time or size), and learn after dark they’ll need to add another hour or more to their travel time going around Zion Park to get to Springdale from the South/West. Do your homework in advance! The tunnel itself is a little over 1 mile long, but SR9 has switchbacks and some tight curves south of the tunnel as you drop elevation into Springdale. Beautiful scenery with a breathtaking view of Zion Canyon from above…but maybe not the best choice for inexperienced drivers or first time driving a big(ger) rig.
