In 1974, David Ferber and his sons flew on a private plane to Southern Utah and rented the only car available in St. George. They drove to a small town called Springdale, Utah, located outside of Zion National Park. It was then that Dave Ferber and his sons saw this campground, which is a small little campground compared to its existence today, and saw the future of bringing tourists and campers of all kinds to enjoy Zion National Park.

In 1999, Dave Ferber’s son, Stewart, took over the campground and continues to develop and improve the property. Stewart expanded the business again in 2012 with the opening of the La Quinta Inn & Suites at Zion Park/Springdale. From then, the family expanded to their latest property, The Fairfield by Marriott, located in Virgin, Utah. From where the campground started to where it is today is an evolution of dreams for this family business and the plans for the future of the Zion Campground and surrounding properties are ever-changing.
